Why You Should Join
Becoming a member entitles you to many benefits. Obedience and agility classes are free for members. Conformation and obedience drop-in classes are also free for members. In addition, members can use the building for individual training time when classes are not in session. Probably the most important aspect of membership is the fellowship with other dog trainers and enthusiasts. Being around people who share your interests and have a wide variety of expertise in all areas of dog sports can help you grow in your abilities to work with your dog.
Membership does carry some responsibilities. Members pay yearly dues and are expected to volunteer to help the club in some way. Membership carries a service requirement of 16 hours per year of service to the club for individual and 22 hours per family membership. However, there are many ways in which you can help the club. You can volunteer to teach or assist in classes, help at Show-N-Gos, trials, or other club sponsored events, work on a committee, or become a club officer. Whatever your interests and abilities, there are ways you can use those abilities to help the club. Check the volunteers page to see where volunteers are needed.
How to Join
It's easy! After taking 16 weeks of training classes and having attended one general membership meeting, you can apply for membership. You will need to contact the Vice-President and Membership Chairperson Monica Holmback to obtain a membership application or click here for a PDF copy of the membership application (you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader for this file). Click here for a Microsoft Word version of the application.
After filling out the membership application, you will need to obtain the signatures of two club member sponsors (usually two of your class instructors). Submit the completed application to the Monica Holmback at CCDTC Membership, 6058 Kells Lane, Milford, OH 45150
Your membership will be voted on at the first membership meeting following your application submission. Dues and volunteer hours are prorated and are based on the month you are voted in as a member.
